What a performance by Doyle last night.
Poor Lee Watkinson didn't know what hit him. Two weeks in a row he plowed through the final table only to be outplayed badly heads up.
Doyle made all the right bets, all the right calls, and all the right folds. As much as people love Doyle, I've never seen much from in the tournaments I've watched him play. He always seemed to make a dumb move with Ace-rag or King-Queen. But last night, he dominated.
Its not that I didn't respect him before, but now that I have seen him at the top of his game, I see why his reputation is so good in the poker world.

It was great to see Doyle winning again.
In defense of Watkinson-he didnt really get the cards either week.
I think that he could have been more patient w/ the blinds so low, but with a chip lead it is SO tempting to go for the throat.

Mike S was talking about Doyle holding over Lee and it seemed like in the crucial pots, this was true. I think Doyle had the sense to lay down losers though.
So two weeks in a row, we've been shown that Lee W is great short-handed, but compensates for his weak hand-reading ability by overbetting in head's up play.
Anywho, yeah to Doyle. And also to Lee W: two final tables in a row, that is goot.

You also had the feeling they were cutting out hands that Lee was winning to make it look like a landslide in Doyle's favor. A couple of times Doyle should have had a bigger lead than he did but it was still close overall. I think they just cut out the Lee hands.
Doyle wiped the floor with him though, he showed some great moves (those pocket 10's at the end was great, overbet the pot and got a call) Lee seemed to make his money by either being extremely aggresive or calling in marignal situations. He just happend to be ahead or outdraw others in those situations before. That Q6 hand showed me he was willing to gamble his chips away and I think Doyle who commented on it took advantage on his love of calling huge bets with crap hands.

Lee didn't get the cards heads up the past two weeks, but he pulled a lot of hands out of his ass before the heads up. He won how many races last week to become the chip leader?

I thought Lee played pretty badly both weeks heads up, cards or not.
The hand that Doyle doubled up on him (Doyle flopped the straight with some garbage cards) was really poorly played by Lee. Doyle checks and calls on the flop, then check raises on the turn. Lee had bottom pair, so of course, he moves all-in.
I'm never going to be at a WPT final table, but that just seemed completely brain dead to me.
