This is the 3rd hand of a $5 SNG at Party. I'm dealt pocket 10's. Everybody checks and then all hell breaks loose. I fold easily, but my wife was saying I should've called. When the 10 comes out on the flop, she rips me for not calling. I knew I would be a big underdog to at least one hand, maybe two. I didn't think it was worth going all in at this stage.
Should I have folded or gone all in?
ScanX, I need your opinion as I was asked specifically to "check with the Belgian."

Well on the one hand I would have figured I wasn't ahead anymore, but with the pot size I might have done it. $5 SNG's are dicey to begin with. I probably would have said screw it, lets go, one of you probably has me beat here but the pot is too big to let go.
Now if I've playing the WSOP or another huge event, I let it go in a hurry. I don't want to go out that fast with 10's.
So you did the right thing, I just would have been inclined to do the wrong thing since it was for $5 and if I get lucky, I am a huge chip leader.

I would fold, most likely you are a huge dog. I know it sucks when you would have floped a set and busted everyone, but more time then not you will bust out. I would rather see a flop before I commit my chips with 10s, unless I'm short stacked.

Well, think about it, especially given that you have the benefit of hindsight.
Not only were you in third place pre-flop, but you were in third place with two outs.
The fact that this particular trial would have worked out for you does not make this the correct call. You had to figure at least one of the other players for an overpair.
Wife is wrong, you did well.

This is an important point of poker...it's more important to make the correct decision than to win the hand. A flop never proves a call. This is a point that is often lost by novice players. I have a non-poker playing friend to whom I tried to make that point, and he just got a puzzled look and said, "Huh?" He just doesn't get poker, but at least he knows it, and doesn't play poker.

good fold. Pocket 10s with all that raising and re-raising might as well be the same as pocket 3's.

Definately a good fold. With all that action you are behind. Sure you got luck that time. You knew you were behind, so you folded. You were right. Just so happens you hit one of your 2 outs.

A simple fold here. Yes u would have hit the third 10 but folding was still the correct play. It might seem on the face of it that u lost out on what would have been a huge pot but I don't think theres a poker player on earth who hasn't had a similar experience.
If u keep on making the correct decisions then in the long run it will pay off.
GOOD FOLD.

No way I call. I like to win. But, I know it won't happen going all-in with two outs to save me. You do that, you're relying on luck, and you might as well go pull on a slot machine.
