Where did I go wrong?

Alright this was in a multitable, PL tourny. About 125 people in total. And this is early on... within first 20 hands.

Seat 6: Styln (big blind) folded on the Flop
Seat 7: JJgivaway folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Seat 9: patmeup folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 10: billy71 folded before Flop (didn't bet)

I felt that I had to bet out after catching 2 pair on the turn, and just being called and checked. I had G-Factor on A and something high... or maybe even just middle pair.

Obviously I was wrong. Is there something there that should have told me that he had me beat? If not, how could I have gotten that information?

Or... did I just get screwed?

Confused

when you're learning the game, you'll make tons of these mistakes w/top pair.

that early in the tourney, the preflop play is OK. Some tighter players will fold to w/that while others have no problem playing it. Since you're in position I don't think it's that bad.

Flop: this is where you screwed up. You just committed a third of your stack w/no flush draw and a terrible kicker. Remember, you're reraising the preflop raiser who bet this flop w/an ace on board. Since he made it so cheap to get to the next card, take it.

Turn and river: are just the results of your flop play. No way you're folding.

Put me in that hand, i'd go:

Flop: call.

Turn: raise and if I got called. . . look to check the river.

Yes... that sounds much smarter.

I even know that my 6 kicker sucked. It was playable, but it wasn't the best. I guess I got too aggresive and didn't get a chance to get any information from G-Factor. And I could have used my position to my advantage a bit better then I did. I fell in love with 2 pair a's and 6's... and he had me one up.

Ahh well... at least it was only a $1 entry fee. Wink

I know what to do next time though.
