We had to cancel a NO trip when the flu hit our family. Now looking at going to Chi or Reno NV.
I love Vegas, but dont know much about Reno. Are the casinos cool-or kinda boring. Any good Holdem places?
Please-give any advice.

Aren't you in Minnesota? That's quite a choice: Chicago v Reno. I haven't been to Reno, but I hear it's great. I was in Tahoe and the casinos there were terrific, and Reno and Tahoe use the same airport, so they can't be far.
But Chicago? Man it's COLD down here. No I know I'm talking to a guy from the big Frostie, but that wind whistlin' through your drawers downtown will give a man pause, I gotta tell ya. Forget Chicago, go to Reno. If you want to be cold just head over Tahoe and ski.

Reno it is-we are booked. I found the 6 casinos that have holdem. It will be 40-50s for the highs and lows in the 20s-now that is downright balmy! All limit games and the only tourneys are shootouts (ick!) but it will still pass the time.
Chicago? Cold? Huh? Up here in MN, I have put a jacket on maybe 4 days this year. If it aint in the teens and windy or colder...why bother.

NO JACKET?
Exactly how much anti-freeze do you put in your bloodstream everyday?

Hey, maybe I should find you guys a nice Indian casino in New Hampshire. The radio said it was 100 below out there this morning (with the wind chill). Who knows who'd stumble into a casino in weather like that. You'd have people so numb they couldn't pick up their cards. Give you two a hell of an edge. You could invite that Shrek gal, she lives in the Great Icebox up north.

It is just a hassel to tote one around.
In fact, when we had a cabin in NE MN near Canada, we would jump on snowmobiles and go 1/2 mile down to the bar w/ short sleeve shirts. 10-20 degrees w/ no coat at 70 mph is really quite refreshing.

Yeah, its been super cold here lately. Woke up today at -8 in southern mass... I've a big hockey fan, so i've been on the ponds each day (almost) for two weeks. I'm getting used to playing outdoors without a zamboni...
PS I hope I'm not disapointing anyone, but... I am of the male gender ->

I'm reading that thinking "Damn, this is some gal. Out there playing pond hockey when it's so cold your blades won't even bite."
Uh...sorry. Second time this week I've felt like a total moron. I don't know why I got to thinking you were female. It's funnny too...because you know how you get these little conversations in your head about people and I'm thinking..."This chick thinks like a guy...I like her."
..Used to love pond hockey. Always those nice long breaks when you were winded while a someone shagged an errant shot out of the broken cat tail stems. Kept the slapshots down, too, if a guy knew he'd have to go skate 2 1/2 blocks and find it when it went wide. (Can you tell I was a defenseman?).
Sincerely,
Ivan Poqczech

"Don't skate...Always played goalie..."
Makes me smile. I remember back in high school luring some really good atheletes out onto the ponds...lending them skates... usually shortstops, because they were quick as cats. Then giving them that big goalie stick and some pads if we had any and telling them "Hey man, goalie... skating's not a problem." And there we were...had a goalie in there for the whole day...didn't have to rotate someone in after every goal. That system didn't work anyway, because some guys who just hated it ...well you knew they were going to let the first shot go right through just to get out of the net. And you know, a lot of guys liked it.
