Nice review, thanks for all your work John.

One thing you didn't touch on and I was wondering about -- what about the texture?

With your close-up pics of the white & orange you can really see a difference in the fine cross-hatching on the old JBs (and on regular casino Paulsons with their standard mold) vs. the pattern/texture on the new chips. Could this have anything to do with the complaints about how grimy the new chips get from usage?

Is there a different and/or better feel to the old vs/ new?

Keep your good stuff coming!

Sucks that they ended that mold. I love my little set of 10 TH&Cs.

heres the real question why the hell do the new bond chips get dirty so quickly. The whiet and yellow chips are impossible to get clean after they have been handled.

also I wonder if the wear is the same for both the old paulson and the new

my sample set which has benn shuffled a lot is only 4 weeks old if that and when stacked up next to un handled chips they are laready shorter by quite a bit.

and the difference im talking about is significant with 14 chips stacked next to each other I can imagine how much more of a difference there would be with stacks of 25. It would easily be a half chip lower in height.

and this is only 4 weeks worth of handling

I have mint/new samples of both the old and new JB Paulsons, and I can tell you with great certainty that the old JB white chips collect just as much dirt and just as quickly as the new.

The main thing is that new chips tend to be chalkier and shed loose dust easier than well-worn-in chips. I find that the more worn in the chips get, the less dust they shed, and by extension, the less dirty the whites get.

When I'd take a stack of 10 blue mind condition old JBs and spend a day shuffling them, my finger tips would be covered with blue by the end of the day. But, after a few weeks of use, that shedding all but stops.

I've been shuffling a set of 7 sample new JBs with some actual fairly-new (still stand on edge) Paulson casino chips, and the new JBs are wearing just like any old pre-buy out Paulsons.
