OK, this weekend at a home game here is the problem
Player 1 has Ac and 3s
Player 2 has Ah and 8c
The board flopped 7d 7c Jh 4h Ad
which player wins this hand? They both have the Aces and Sevens and the high card on the board is the Jh which is higher then both their 3s and 8c.
Since both players are using the Sevens and Aces the next highest card is the Jh. We split the pot on this hand did we make the right call??
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Yep. It's the best 5 card hand. The best hand was A's & 7's with a J kicker. That's a split pot.

You posted this thread in the Beginner's section which is good but you appear to have missed the stick thread which would have revealed all:
