Hi everyone. I have been working on a gaming client/server in my spare time for a couple of months now. I am at a point where I think I have a pretty good "alpha" version working. I now need help testing the software and suggestions on how to make it better. In other words: I need people willing to play poker.
A few months ago there was a thread expressing interest in making a place where people could play for free. Well, this might just be it! In addition to keeping track of "money" the server also keeps track of user ratings using a algorithm similar to the one used for chess ratings.
The client is written in java and my plan is to opensource it along with the server protocol. This way there can be clients for as many platforms as possible. My plan is that the initial release will support Limit, NL and PL Hold'em poker. Both ring games and single table tournaments. In the future I plan on offering more forms of poker and other games such as spades and chess.
