Posted Fri Mar 25, 2005 10:06 am GMT by FJohnson
Anyone have a very good flat picture or better yet a good scan of a Nevada Jacks Nevada Mold without any edgespots. Trying to Mock up a custom NJ Clay and need a good representation of the mold.

Just use the pic from their web site of the white $0.25 chip.

I tried. It's not good enough, web based pics are only 72 pixels/in. Can't get a good image. Sad

I don't have the white 25¢ chip which would be perfect, but I have the plain gray 50¢ chip. Here is a scan at 100% size and at 300dpi -- no adjustments or color correction. This is the JPG file, but if you want BMP or any other size/resolution, just email me.

Thanks tomb1, actually the grey works better than the white as an overlay layer that has been Equalized. It affects the colors somewhat but nothing you can't adjust. Here is a pic of the ones I have made up so far, theses are pre yeltzen color combos, he has some pretty good color ideas, I am will work on them this weekend some.

Wow, those look great. That red chip combination (same as the standard Martini Club $5) is dynamite in person.

you've got your levels set a little to high. thats why its changing the colros so much. look at the shadows on the mold. It shouldn't be that black. You're highlights are a little too white.

Also make sure you desaturate the mold layer.

My color ideas are the bomb.

FJohnson,
Hope ya don’t mind. I used your mockups to make some of my own. I just threw some colors on there to show you guys; they can easily be changed to something nicer. I still have to make the inlay layer and a regular 2 spot config but should have it done by tomorrow... Thanks again!

Is there a color chart for these chips that we could follow?

When I spoke with Dave Endy a couple days ago he told me he was going to make up some samples by hand that would represent most of their colors. When I get them I will make up a color chart for you. He said it would be a few days so hopefully by mid week I'll have them.

Cool... that sounds great. If you could send me a .psd with the chip scans or color mockups that would be awesome.

Not at all circle, use away. I like the black chip colors, not real crazy about the other two. Are you using PS to do your mock-ups? It was farily easy to manipulate the spots for mine.

Yeah, I've got PS7.0. As for the colors, I don't plan on using those for anything I was just trying to show everyone some possible edge spot designs as far as shape and spacing... I posted a couple others with a custom inaly design on the other NJ thread, let me know what ya think. Thanks again!
