Just wondering if anyone has ever changed the felt on this table. If so, was it difficult? I haven't had time to lately, but after looking at it last night I think it would be fairly simple. The cards just don't slide as well as I would like on the current fabric that came on it.

Hey Panther..ive got the same table and you pose an interesting question.
the table itself is cool enough (i get plenty of compliments),but the cards,my Kem's, dont slide all that well.
I encourage anyone who has any tips on replacing the felt,or converting it to a race-track even, to volunteer thier info. it would be greatly appreciated.

I have one of these as a spare table if I have more than 15 players. It's a PitBoss table, right? The arm rests unbolt and according to the manuf, you can have it refelted but since in folds down the middle, I don't think it would be easy to install a raceway.

Thanks. Yes it is Pit Boss, but I don't recall seeing a manual..Probably threw it away. On the table top that I made awhile ago, I bought this awesome fabric at Jo-Anne's for like 2 bucks a yard and it was great for a poker table. Cards slid without any effort. I might try this sometime this week so I will let everyone know if it goes okay.

Does the manual say exactly what to do?? I looked over my table last night and it looks like it would be simple except for attaching the felt so it will stay in the middle.

mine didnt come with a manual at all.just a flyer containing 'rules to texas hold'em'. that was it.

Well I did it today. Took a couple hours, but was well worth it. I unscrewed every screw to remove the rail, then put the new fabric down. I cut it down the middle because it is the only way I could think to do it on a folding table. I then pulled tight and cut holes in the fabric where the screws would go back up through the fabric, then back into the rail. I did this all the way around, and left about a 2 inch flap in the middle from both sides. So, when I set it up, I get it almost flat, then pull the flaps down in the middle, then close and it stays in there tightly.
Everyone loved it at my home game and thought it made the table much better. It is also not too squishy anymore, and cards slide great. This is also a reversible method, so if I decide for some reason I liked it better the old way (won't happen) I could just undo it. I definitely recommend that anybody who owns this table do this.

way to go, you've inspired me to check this out. theres a site where you can get personalized felt and i might repalce the 'squishy' green 'stuff' with some quality monogrammed felt.

Just to let you know, I have used this fabric from Jo-Anne's for my table top that I built, and then for this. It is 2-4 dollars per yard and it works awesome. The cards slide with hardly any effort. It comes in different colors and is a little bit stretchy, I will try to find the name of it. I definately suggest you do this to your table though. There also may be a better way to secure it in the middle, but mine works fine. Maybe you want to experiment a little.

I'm curious to find out what the fabric is called. I recently re-did an octagon table with Velveteen from Joanns. Looked and felt 10X better than the crappy vinyl (think bridge table) that it came with. I was trying to sell it to buy an oval table and couldn't. Sold to the first person that looked at it with the new fabric.

Warewulf...I just finished looking everywhere for the receipt and couldnt find it. I also checked the web-site and wasn't sure. All I know is that I saw black, red, and dark green...I was around 4.99 per yard...54 inches wide...and it is currently 30% off. It is a little stretchy and almost seems see through when pulled tightly. Hope this helps.

nope. I know it isn't velveteen. It is like a stretchy nylon material.

I've used 'crushed panne' from Joanns it's $4.99/yard, perhaps this is the stuff? It's nice for the price, but it has kind of a 'grain', i.e. sometimes the cards will slide better one direction than the other...
