Great news about "spinnie" NJ clays. |

I was getting a little annoyed at how some of (a lot of) my green $25 NJ clays had the "spinnie" problem (i.e. they spin like a top on a flat surface). So, I decided to test all 160 of them to see what the ratio of spinnies to non-spinnies was. Out of 160 chips, 52 were NOT spinnies. That means 108/160 are spinnies. I'm real pleased with this.

I feel better now that im not the only one with bad $25's. At least your $25's stack as high as your 100's.

I just can't understand how this happens. All of the other denominations are fine. Maybe one semi-spinnie out of 75, but even those ones are even close to the average $25. Very frustrating. I'm really at a loss as to what to do about it. I'd like to just bag them and use only $100, $500, $1000, and $5000 for my set, but I can't order weird numbers of denominations from the site...

heres the real crappy part, the more the "clay" edges wear away the more likley that the other denoms will begin to act the same way.
The inlay is too close to the surface, there needs to be more of a recesed area for the inlay.

Well I've figured out a way to just use 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 chips for my tournaments. We'll have to really f up the blind structure, but the 25s will drive me insane if I keep them.

I've ordered 'weird' numbers before. 2purple, 3yellow, 12black, 16green. but i paid the full price of $1.25each for them. I ordered through the phone though since they dont take online orders from Hawaii.

Actually I realized that I don't need to order the weird numbers. With 25 more $500 chips I can set my game up the same way, we'll just start with 30 chips instead of 40. Ack.

I hate this forum. If I didnt find this board online then I'd be happy with 1000 ($128 +tax) chips from costco. Oh well.

lmao... posted my green NJ clays on eBay 45 minutes ago... someone already bought them now for 90 cents a chip. At least I know there's demand for them.

thats good to hear just in case a 'perfect' chip comes out on the market. till then im satisfied with the NJ clays.

I'm totally satisfied with them too, other than the $25 chip. It's just a shame it couldn't have been any other chip... the $25s are smack in the middle of the whole progression... you need them no matter what amount of chips you start with.
